I am an avid
green tea drinker, however, it was only recently that I discovered the proper way to make a cup of tea for two Cool

 

Storage

  • Paper bag  is suitable for temporary storage.  
  • Long-term storage, it is best to use a glass jar with a tight-fitting lid and preferably metal.
  • Place in a cool dry area out of direct sunlight, such as a closed cupboard. 

How-to Make a cup of Black Tea, Dark Oolong and Herbal teas
  • Boil the water.
  • Pour boiling water over the tea.  (212F)
  • Infuse (steep)  tea for a minimum of 5 full minutes, unless instructed otherwise based on the type of tea. 

Green Tea, White or Semi-Black Tea
  • Boil the water.
  • Pour boiling water in a cup and allow it to cool off for 5 minutes (at 185 degrees) 
  • Add tea bag or  loose tea (3/4 of a level teaspoon per 6 oz. of water) to the cooled off water.
  • Infuse (steep) green tea and white tea for 3 minutes,  semi-black tea for (4-5) minutes.
  • Green tea and semi-black tea leaf may be infused several times, depending on the tea you have purchased.
  • Green tea and semi-black tea, though they may be slightly more expensive are ultimately less costly due to the number of times the leaf may be infused.

Precise Steeping Info: 5 min. for most black, 7 min. for dark oolong and white, and only 3 min. for light oolong and green teas.
